Glovers Solicitors LLP recognised in the Legal 500 Guide to the UK Legal Profession – 2015 Edition

Glovers is proud to report that the recently published 2015 edition of the Legal 500 continues to rank the firm for its expertise across the commercial property spectrum.

The Legal 500 assesses firms not only on size and resources, but also on the extent to which a client would recommend that firm in a particular field. The partners of Glovers see the recognition received by The Legal 500 as independent confirmation of the strength of the firm and its ability to hold its own against some of the largest West End and City of London firms.

Glovers is recommended as a fourth tier firm for commercial property work in the hotels and leisure sector. The leisure and restaurants practice at Glovers, headed by John Barber, acts as sole property lawyers for three of the top five restaurant companies in the UK by size and its clients include PizzaExpress, Nando’s, Prezzo, Zizzi, ASK, GBK and Wahaca, as well as a host of smaller operators, such as Dishoom and Flat Iron.

The commercial property department is also recommended as a sixth tier firm for development work. It is instructed on a range of matters by Sir Robert McAlpine.

The “excellent” property litigation department at Glovers is also ranked as a fourth tier firm, with the Legal 500 commenting that the team has a “real expertise in mortgages” and that partners Edward Vaughan and Kenny Friday are “superb”.

Glovers is ranked as a fifth tier firm for property finance. The team, headed by Andrew Parker, acts for numerous banks on a wide range of financing matters. Clients include Close Brothers, Credit Suisse, Hampshire Trust Bank, Heritable Development Finance, Investec Bank, Kleinwort Benson and United Trust Bank.
